Bols Coffee is a rich, dark, deep brown liqueur with the full taste of percolated Colombian coffee beans and just a hint of chocolate and vanilla. Coffee liqueurs grew in the 1970s and have become widely available in the cocktail world ever since. From the B52, which dominates the layered-shooter category, to the Espresso Martini, which has become a major player in the contemporary-classic cocktail category, Bols Coffee has become indispensable. The earliest credible evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee plant appears in the middle of the 15th century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen. By the 16th century, it had reached the rest of the Middle East, Persia, Turkey and Northern Africa. Coffee then spread to Italy, and to the rest of Europe. In the 19th century Bols also made a Coffee liqueur which had a fashionable name ‘Huile de Moka’.
