The Bramble

History of the “Bramble”

Dick Bradsel dubbed the Cocktail King, became famous after inventing the Bramble in 1984. It is widely seen as a creation coming from its forerunner the Thomas Gin Fix.The bramble is essentially a short gin sour with a drizzle of crème de mûre, a French blackberry liqueur, over the top. Nevertheless it taste completely different and can stand its ground.

The “Bramble” Recipe

  • 1 ¼ oz. Damrak Gin
  • ¾ oz. Fresh Lime juice
  • ¼ oz. Sugar Syrup
  • ¼ oz. Bols Crème de Cassis

How to make a “Bramble”

Step 1: Pour all ingredients, except Crème de Cassis in a Boston Shaker.
Step 2: Shake these ingredients with cubed ice.
Step 3: Strain in a pre-chilled short drink glass over crushed ice.
Step 4: Drizzle Crème de Cassis on top of the drink.
Step 5: Garnish with blackberry & half lemon wheel.
