The location for the Amsterdam edition of Bols Business class couldn’t be more fitting: a former theatre located on the ‘Rozengracht’, just a few doors down from where the Lucas Bols distillery first was established in 1575. The venue was packed with over 135 guests attending from different Dutch bars and restaurants as well as international visitors. The line-up was a blend of local and internationally acclaimed hospitality professionals, presenting on a varied range of topics. The event was kicked off by Lucas Bols brand ambassador from Australia: Dylan Howarth, who captured the audience with his talk on successful management of a bar team. Fjalar Goud is a Dutch expert on efficient bar design with a solid bartending background. He shared his insights on bar design impacting profitability. After the break, social media guru Calum Brannan presented a very practical and captivating talk on social media pitfalls and opportunities. The inspiring final talk was presented by Casper Reinders, Amsterdam’s very own wonder boy who has put an undeniable stamp on Dutch hospitality with daring and original bar and club concepts. After the talks, a selected group of guests had the opportunity to chat to the presenters one-on-one during a meet and greet which proved immensely popular.
