History of the “Grasshopper”
Although some accounts place the Grasshopper's origins in the late 1920s, New Orleans food historian Poppy Tooker has found newspaper articles referencing the drink dating to 1919. "There wouldn't be a written record — especially during Prohibition," says Tooker, who is currently writing a book about the history of Tujague's. "But he’s certain that from 1919 on, in one way or another, you could get a Grasshopper at Tujague's." 

The “Bloody Mary” Recipe

2 oz. Bols Vodka
3 oz. Tomato juice
½  oz. Lemon juice
2 dashes Tabasco sauce
2 dashes Worchester sauce
A pinch celery salt
Freshly ground black pepper

How to make a “Bloody Mary”

Step 1: Pour all ingredients in a Shaker.
Step 2: Roll ingredients with ice.
Step 3: Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass.
Step 4: Garnish with a celery stick.
